Workout From Home (wfh) Essentials

April 8, 2020
In the first three weeks of social distancing, I did absolutely nothing but eat, do homework, eat, watch tv, and repeat. But this week, for my mental and physical health, I realized I needed to get back on my workout grind. I'm still waiting for a few things to come in the mail, but since I've figured out my routine and my essentials I wanted to share it with you all!

Athletic Wear

The athleta salutation 7/8 leggings are the best leggings I've ever worn. I'm also obsessed with the lululemon wunder under full-on luxtreme. I'm not as picky with sports bras, but I love the Nike classic padded because they don't have a bunch of straps in the back that make it complicated to put on. I've had the APL Techloom Breeze for almost 2 years now and I love them. I want to try the adidas ultraboost next.

What's in My Cart: Quarantine Edition

April 4, 2020
In my three weeks of online classes while pretending to be paying attention to my Zoom lectures I've discovered great sales from some of my favorite brands! I've mostly taken advantage of the sales to pick up my essentials! Below you can see what I've been buying and score a few things from a few of my faves!

Urban Outfitters

UO has a new sale almost daily and the day I shopped they had a sale on the lifestyle section. I haven't purchased anything from UO yet but here are a few things that are in my cart!

Winter Break Reads

January 13, 2020

I love a good book in the morning, before bed, on a plane, etc. I did a lot of all of those things over winter break the past month. All three books I read are contemporary fiction, but the characters run the gamut as far as demographics, personalities, current place in life so each book was a very different experience.

2020 Goals and Plans

January 1, 2020

Hi again. New year, new me is such a tired phrase but it so accurately describes my attitude this year so I'm using it anyway. I have a long list of reasons I took a break from the blog but none of them matter. All you need to know is that I am back and better than ever creating content.

2020 is setting out to be a big year for me. I have so many goals, plans, and milestones this year that I want to share.

Why Habits Make the World Go 'Round

August 10, 2018

Habits are the driving force in my life. That sounds kind of extreme but in the transition to college and being substantially more independent, establishing and maintaining habits made everything simple. Last week, I finished Gretchen Rubin's Better Than Before and learned everything I wanted to know about forming and keeping habits. Since I'm a woman of the people, I'm going to save you the trouble of reading the book and share the most important, life-changing deets.

Dealing with Disappointment

Dealing with Disappointment

Every time I think I have this whole blogging thing down, life gets to me and I go MIA for a few of weeks. Seriously, I can't believe it's been nearly 3 weeks since I've written a blog post. I have so many post ideas that I cannot wait to pick up right where I left off!

How to Get Out of A Creative Rut

February 20, 2018

As much as I love blogging, every couple of months I fall into a rut and feel completely uninspired to write blog posts, post on social media, or be creative in general. I usually end up wallowing in it for a few days (or weeks) and then something sparks and I jump back into the swing of things full force! It works, but it's undeniably not the most efficient way to live my life. After a few cycles of this, I realized what always pulls me back: changing my look.

February Mood Board

February 2, 2018

Happy Groundhog Day! I'm writing this post a couple days early, but my guess is that Punxsutawney Phil didn't see his shadow this morning and we have six more weeks of winter ahead. Last year, February was a great month for me; nothing spectacular happened, but despite some setbacks — losing my wallet and ruining my laptop — I was able to roll with the punches and not let it get me down.

December Mood Board

December 12, 2017

Happy Tuesday! I'm in the midst of "study week" here at Georgetown, which brings me a lot of free time (in addition to studying). One of my favorite things to do is make mood boards on Pinterest, but sometimes I take it a step further using BlogPixie's Mood Board templates.

Holiday Wish List 2017

Happy Tuesday! The holiday season is here so keeping the tradition I'm sharing my holiday wish list for the year! I remember when I made my Holiday Wish List 2014 on Polyvore! I was so particular about what I wanted and the images and used and adding the numbers in the circles...fast-forward to today and nothing has changed! Back in 2014, I got an all-time high of 5 items on my wish list (my mom used it to get my presents and I had no idea)! I continued the tradition in 2015 and 2016, hitting 4 and 3 items respectfully. I know the holiday is not about the gifts at all, but I love to try and see/guess how many items from my wish list end up in my stocking or under the tree! Feel free to use this list as gift-giving inspiration or inspiration for things to ask for; I tried to include a range of prices!

Her Conference 2017

July 25, 2017
Her Conference sponsored by KIND

Hi everyone! If you follow me on Instagram or Twitter, you probably know that I was in NYC this past weekend for Her Conference! For months, I've been super excited for this event not only because of the amazing keynote speakers (Troian Bellisario and Aja Naomi King, I mean come on) but also because all of the panels were super interesting to me! I attended panels on marketing, PR, entrepreneurship, and book publishing; each one leaving me so inspired and with so many ideas!

Good Vibes x Happy + Hale

Happy Thursday! Today is the day that I hear back from the last of the colleges I applied to, so tonight I'll start the pro-con list of all pro-con lists. It's been easy to feel nervous the past few weeks as decision date approaches, but I've been trying to keep calm and stay focused. If you're also a senior waiting to hear back from colleges (or in any tough situation), remember that when you put good vibes into the universe you're going to get them in return.

TRU + Lulu's

Today is my first official day of spring break and I could not be more excited! I have a couple of fun things planned for the week and I cannot wait to share the photos with you. These pictures are from lunch last Friday, I took my sister to one of my favorite places: Tru Deli. It's located in Chapel Hill right off Franklin Street so if you're ever in the area make sure to stop by! I love it because although it's a sandwich and salad place, there is a lot of versatility. Also, it's vegan and vegetarian options. My go-to order is a wheat wrap with lettuce, banana peppers, oil & vinegar, and lots of avocado!

Holiday Gift Guide 2016

December 19, 2016

There's less than one week until Christmas, so time is running out to buy gifts for our nearest and dearest. Every year, I struggle to pick out gifts because I either have too many ideas that I can't afford, or I have absolutely no ideas at all! This year, it's been a bit easier than usual, so I decided to create a gift guide.

Holiday Wish List 2016

December 12, 2016

I'm back with my 3rd annual holiday wish list! I started doing this in 2014, and it was helpful for "Santa", as well as my friends and family. I did it again in 2015, and now here we are with 2016's edition. I feel like I have to give the disclaimer that I don't except all or any of these items for Christmas, they're just a few things I have my eyes on. I've tried to include items varying in prices so you can get a variety of ideas for your own wish lists, as well as ideas of what to get friends! Stay tuned for a few more holiday posts this season, xoxo Lauren!

Vegan Pumpkin Pie

October 24, 2016

The end of October is full of pumpkins; pumpkin spice lattes at Starbucks (and everywhere else these days) and carving pumpkins for Halloween. My favorite pumpkin-related food of all time is my sister’s pumpkin pie, but I usually don’t get that until Thanksgiving, which is kind of a shame. This past weekend, I was craving my sister’s pumpkin pie so badly and I was prepared to beg and barter and until she made one, until I realized that her famous recipe is. not. vegan.

Pumpkin Patch

October 3, 2016

Today is my good friend Lexi's birthday, happy birthday Lexi ♥︎! This past Saturday, Lexi and I, along with 9 of her closest gal pals, celebrated by going to a pumpkin patch. It such a fun fall activity and the weather was gorgeous, so I couldn't help but take a bunch of pictures!

The Best (Vegan) Waffles

August 21, 2016

Today's post was originally going to be a smoothie bowl recipe that I'm obsessed with. I've had it 2x this week, and I even went to the store to get strawberries, kiwi, and banana's to make it looks super cute. Alas, some people weren't meant to cook (or even make smoothies for that matter), because while it tasted great, the texture was off and it looked disgusting. While I was struggling to make a basic smoothie, my sister was behind me making waffles. My sister, Olivia, isn't vegan, but she's been making vegan recipes lately so that I can eat them too (she's pretty cool like that). Her vegan waffles looked way better than my soupy smoothie, so I switched gears and started photographing those instead. I even let her use the fruit I bought to top it.
