First Day of Fall

September 23, 2017

Happy second day of fall!! As you can probably tell, this post was meant to go up yesterday but I've been busy preparing for College Fashion Week Boston! I'm super excited to be in Boston this weekend, but until that post goes up next week, I'm still D.C.!

Transitioning into fall can be rough, especially when the temperature is still in the low 80s to mid-70s. I'm not a huge fan of layers, particularly because I tend to lose things that are removable (cardigans, rain jackets, you name it). My go-to fall-but-not-really-fall look is jeans and a 3/4 sleeve top. I don't like anything too thick, but this style of top is perfect for the in-between weather. While it's on the warmer side, I'm still wearing my favorite wedges from the summer. I like this style because they cover most of my foot so I feel like I can kind of get away with wearing espadrilles in September (maybe not...). I purchased this top (in two colors) from Violet Boutique, which I talked about in my M street shopping post, but I've found some similar pieces that I've linked below! I love the contrast of white and black in this look; it feels very Parisian (looking at these pictures makes me think that I should be standing in front of the Eiffel Tower, but the Washington Monument isn't a bad view)!

What's your go-to summer to fall look? Thanks for reading, stay tuned for CFW Boston! xx, Lauren
